The Science of Nutrigenomics
Using genetic testing to determine why individuals respond differently to the same foods, beverages and supplements they consume.
Genetics can affect Metabolism, Absorption, Digestion, and Appetite.

The Testing Process
-
We’ll send you our genetic test kit and instructions on how to do it at home. A simple cotton buccal swab.
-
Instructions will be provided in the test kit. Genetic analysis at CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited labs.
-
You will be able to access and download your report through client portal on the Nutrigenomix® website.
-
A free session is included with one of our practitioners and we will help you best understand your result.
Sample Report - Summary of Results
Nutrigenomix® reports refer to two different types of variants: risk and response. Both risk and response variants are relative to the client’s diet and lifestyle.

Genetic Testing for Personalized Nutrition
The Science
Evidence shows that one-size-fits-all nutrition recommendations are inefficient and often ineffective. Research in nutrigenomics can now explain why the same foods affect different people in different ways.
Nutrigenomix test kit was used in the first published, peer-reviewed randomized controlled trial of genetic information
The Service
3 comprehensive test kits for Health and Wellness, Athletic Performance, and Fertility
Kits test how genes impact weight loss & body composition, nutrient metabolism, heart health, performance, fertility, food intolerances, and eating habits
The Benefits
Peer-reviewed, published research shows that DNA-based dietary advice increases motivation and adherence to nutritional recommendations, compared to general advice
What’s Included
DNA collection kits
DNA isolation
Genetic analysis at CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited labs
Customized reports based on the latest scientific evidence
One 30-minutes session with our practitioner to interpret your results and give you personalized nutrition services to accomplish your goals!

FAQs
-
Nutrigenomics is a new scientific discipline that uses modern genomics technology to study the relationship between genes, nutrition and health. It has long been apparent that some people respond differently from others to certain foods. For example, individuals with lactose intolerance experience gastrointestinal discomfort after consuming certain dairy products, while other individuals can consume dairy with no problems. Nutrigenomics allows us to understand how our genes affect the way we respond to the foods, beverages and supplements we consume.
-
Armed with information that is specific to your genetic profile, we will be able to develop the best dietary plan to help you meet your nutrition and fitness goals. Adhering to those recommendations will enable you to optimize your nutritional status and prevent nutrition-related chronic diseases. DNA-based recommendations provide greater precision for each individual than the general dietary guidelines.
-
A simple DNA sample (saliva sample or cheek swab) is required to test for the genetic markers included in our reports. The sample will be collected by your healthcare professional or can be collected at home and sent to the Nutrigenomix® laboratory for analysis.

The Health test focuses on achieving optimal health for individuals who are pursuing general well-being. For example, these individuals may be interested in weight management, and improvements in cardiometabolic health and fitness.
The Sport test is designed to provide nutrition and performance-related recommendations that will help active individuals and athletes boost physical and mental performance while optimizing body composition and nutritional status.
The Fertility test is designed to provide nutrition recommendations that will help individuals (male or female) who are trying to conceive by optimizing their fertility potential.
